The Kia Telluride comes equipped with a 3.8-liter V-6 with an output of 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. While that's a pretty substantial output, the Tahoe gives you even more with its 5.3-liter V-8 that generates 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Plus, if you want even more power, the Tahoe is available with a 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. And, if you want a diesel-powered engine, you can equip the Tahoe with a Duramax Turbo Diesel engine. Unfortunately, the V-6 is the only engine available for the Tahoe, and it pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In contrast, the Tahoe features a 10-speed automatic, which delivers smoother acceleration because it has more gears to shift through.
