Advanced Interior Comfort and Technology
Ready and Strong
There are four engine options available for the Silverado 1500. At the entry level, you’ll find a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder that pushes out 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 9,500 pounds. Next is a 3.0-liter diesel six-cylinder, an option that’s becoming quite rare in the full-size pickup segment. As expected, it offers serious torque (495 lb-ft), impressive pulling power (13,300 pounds), and excellent fuel economy at 26 mpg combined.
From there, it’s all gas V8s. The first is a 5.3-liter that makes 355 horsepower, 383 lb-ft of torque, and can tow as much as 11,300 pounds. Topping the range is a 6.2-liter with 420 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, good for a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds.
Truck Bed Talk
Just like with the engine, you’ve got choices when it comes to the bed. The shortest one measures 5.8 feet, the mid-length is 6 feet, and the longest one stretches about 8 feet. All are made from roll-formed high-strength steel and can be optioned with niceties, like LED lighting, a camera, or an organizer.
The Silverado bed sides also sit higher than most, which means you get more cargo space to play with. And if you want to make loading and unloading easier, you can go for GM’s Multi-Flex tailgate, which adds several functional upgrades over a traditional one-piece tailgate.
Interior and In-Car Technology
The 2025 Silverado 1500’s wide trim lineup allows you to get as spartan or as fancy as you like. The job-ready Work Truck model covers the basics with manually adjustable front seats, manual locks, easy-to-clean vinyl upholstery, and a seven-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Custom and Custom Trail Boss move the needle toward comfort with cloth seats, power-adjustable front seats, two rear USB ports, and remote start.
Front-row heating becomes standard in the LT trim, which also gets a sharper-looking dash with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a massive 13.4-inch center touchscreen. The luxury only builds from there, with higher trims offering real wood accents, premium leather (available in Nightshift Blue), heated and ventilated front seats, and a Bose premium sound system.
