Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing and Casino

Harrah’s offers all-day entertainment for families, sports fans, gamers, and more. You can cheer on the horses at Hoosier Park, which hosts the country’s top Standardbred harness racers. Around the track and grandstands, you’ll find the Homestretch Club and Steakhouse, a terrace area and restaurant, plus a family fun zone. The casino also features high-stakes games, video poker, and multiplayer electronic blackjack. Catch a live show with friends or a date at Harrah’s outdoor Music Center or Terrace Showroom. Some of the biggest names in music have graced the Music Center stage, while the 18-and-up Showroom hosts more intimate performances and stand-up comedy shows.

Indy Screampark

This fall, head to Indy Screampark, an award-winning haunted house complex open from September through November. Choose from five terrifying themed attractions, including the newest one — a power plant emersed in complete darkness called Nightmare Factory: Blackout. For something more whimsical, check out Killgore’s 3D Circus, which is filled with disfigured clowns waiting to pounce on unsuspecting locals. Follow the dark trails through Backwoods, which is haunted by the feared Tate family. Indy Screampark’s more intense interactive attractions include the zombie apocalypse-themed Zombieland: Unchained and the futuristic Pandemic: Mutation. Before, after, or between haunted houses, stop by Monster Midway where you’ll find a variety of food vendors, games, paintball, photo booths, and drinks like craft beer and wine.

White River Paintball

Get in on the action at White River Paintball, the Indianapolis area’s biggest outdoor paintball facility. Open since 1999, White River features 12 themed paintball fields catering to first-timers and veteran players alike. Fields include World War II-era Omaha Beach, set on a true-to-size landing craft, and Cargo City, composed of shipping containers, old cars, and industrial materials strung over 1.5 acres. The large, 2-acre Airstrip field features real and replica war helicopters, a two-story control tower, and aircraft containers. Woodsball is a 1.5-acre field set in a wooded ravine that’s perfect for rounds of freeze tag and capture the flag. Head inside The Alamo, a four-sided, two-story frontier-style fort surrounded by bunkers, or get in the trenches at Dunes, a field filled with two dozen sandy hills. Cambodia is one of White River’s most popular fields and includes bridges, huts, and aircraft in a jungle setting. White River Paintball also hosts private parties and special events. If you don’t have your own equipment, the facility can rent you everything you need. Whether you’re looking to get your blood flowing playing paintball, have frightful fun at a haunted house, or spend a day playing the ponies and the slots, there’s something for everyone at these must-see Anderson attractions.
