Ball State University Museum of Art
The Ball State University Museum of Art is housed in the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Ball State University. The museum is open to the public at no charge. It features a permanent collection of over 6,000 works of art. Exhibits include selections from the permanent collection and national traveling shows available to view during your visit.
The museum is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays and university holidays.
The Artworks
The Artworks is a museum and gallery space for the art of local youth. Established in 1999, The Artworks is housed in four large buildings along Meridian Street in downtown Anderson. This includes the Paramount Theater, built-in 1929, and has been beautifully restored to serve as one of the city’s premier performance venues.
The Artworks also hosts several classes and programs for local students, including summer camps and after-school activities.
Indiana Glass Museum
The Indiana Glass Museum is located inside the factory at the same site where glassmaking began in Dunkirk, Indiana, in 1896. The museum features a collection of over 5,000 pieces, including the first piece of glass ever made in Indiana and the most extensive collection of Indiana glass in the world. There is an exhibit on glassmaking techniques and a self-guided tour of the plant.
