The Chevy Suburban
The Chevy Suburban can fit the most cargo out of any SUV in Chevy’s 2023 lineup. It has a best-in-class maximum capacity of 145 cubic feet for cargo. You can achieve this capacity with the second and third-row seats folded down.
It’s not the least bit surprising that the Suburban is so capable when it comes to transporting cargo, as its interior has been designed to maximize its ability to transport both passengers and gear. You can even add a third seat in the front to increase the Suburban’s passenger capacity to 9. That’ll be very useful if you want to travel with 3–6 passengers while also folding down the second and/or third row to maximize cargo space.
The Chevy Tahoe
The Chevy Tahoe has a cargo management system that’s standard on all of its trims. A collapsible cargo area organizer is also available for every trim. That should be helpful when helping you transport up to 123 cubic feet of cargo with the second and third rows flat.
The low and flat load floor makes it easy for you to pack all your gear in. The rear independent suspension really helps a lot with maximizing the ease of loading your stuff into the cargo area, and it also helps add stability when you’re driving with a cabin packed full.
The Chevy Traverse
Just like the Suburban, the Chevy Traverse offers best-in-class capacity. You can fit up to 98.2 cubic feet of cargo in the mid-size SUV if you lay the second and third rows flat. Power folding ability is available for the third row, making it even easier for you to lay the seats down.
The third row also has a 60/40 split to allow you a little extra room for cargo while also bringing passengers along for the ride. Even if you want to lay down the entire third row, you can still fit four or five passengers in the Traverse, depending on your seating configuration.
Which Vehicle Is the Best?
If transporting the most cargo possible matters most to you, then the Chevy Suburban wins hands down. However, each Chevy above is packed with an incredible amount of desirable features and has seating for at least 8, so it’s really a matter of personal preference if cargo volume isn’t the sole decider for you.
