It delivers 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft of torque. Transmission Chevrolet is excited about the wide availability of the 10-speed Allison automatic transmission this year. This transmission offers a smoother performance when shifting. There is a towing mode that offers better control when you're hauling heavy loads. Towing Capacity The maximum available trailering capacity for this model is 36,000 pounds. This is achieved with the 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 and the trailering package and gooseneck hitch. You'll need the Silverado 3500 HD with a regular cab and long bed with two-wheel drive. With the Silverado 2500 HD with the diesel engine, you have a maximum trailering capacity of 22,500 pounds.
