Taking the kids out for dinner can be a difficult task. Children have little patience for fine dining establishments and they can require a bit of fun while waiting for their food. It’s also important that the place serves kid-sized portions, and has tolerance for childish behavior. Thankfully, there are a few great family restaurants around Anderson, IN that are fun for the whole family.Into the Car, Kids! 3 Favorite Family Restaurants Near Anderson, IN

Nick’s Restaurant

Located on Broadway Street, Nick’s Restaurant boasts an absolutely massive menu that covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything is available from fried seafood to steaks, and pizza is also available as a great family sharer. For smaller children (aged under 12), there is a menu that offers smaller portions of many dishes, including burgers and spaghetti.

Not only is the menu massive here, but the place is pretty big too. This roomy interior means it is an excellent spot for a get-together with your extended family, and with seating for up to 9 people in the new Chevrolet Tahoe, you can even bring grandma and grandpa along for a great family meal.

Becky’s Happy Mule Cafe

If you’re looking for more than just a meal, but a fun afternoon out for the family, then head on over to Becky’s Happy Mule Cafe. Alongside their excellent restaurant where they serve incredible breakfast and lunch dishes, the place also backs onto a horse farm, where visitors can watch, and even meet the horses. This is a great time for children who love animals, and they will want to stay all day.

When it comes to food, Becky’s Happy Mule serves a wide variety of sandwiches and burgers, and there are plenty of options for younger children too.

Anderson Grill

Set in a casual, relaxed eatery on South Scatterfield Road, Anderson Grill is a diner that serves everything from breakfast to dinner. The menu is a good size, and most of the dishes are standard pub fare, such as fish and chips, burgers, and sandwiches. For children under 12, they offer a menu that includes a decent amount of options, including chicken dinosaurs and mac n’ cheese, and all the meals are served with fries and a drink.

These are just a few of our favorite spots to go for a family meal, and we can recommend all of them. Whether you’re looking to take the kids for a fun afternoon at Becky’s Happy Mule Cafe or heading for some dinner at Nick’s, we’re sure you’ll all have a great time.
